Alex Gibney Named 5th Annual Nellie Bly Award Winner

The Museum of Political Corruption has named Academy Award winning documentary film director and producer Alex Gibney the 2021 recipient of The Nellie Bly Award for Investigative Reporting.

Called “the most important documentarian of our time” by Esquire Magazine, Gibney’s work often centers on themes of corruption and social justice. “Gibney has been an essential voice in exposing corruption,” offered MPC trustee and Chair of the Award selection committee Karol Kamin. “The Nellie Bly Award honors his powerful and impactful body of work and his mission to bring clarity and awareness to the public.”

 

MPC Receives 2021 Michele L. Vennard Hospitality Grant​

In a ceremony on April 28th, MPC Trustees Bruce Roter and Susan Weber were on hand to receive a Discover Albany’s 2021 Michele L. Vennard Hospitality Grant in the amount of $2500.

The grant was awarded to the museum to assist its educational and outreach needs, specifically with regard to the interactive exhibits being developed for its virtual museum.   The award also recognizes the important role the museum can play in promoting Albany tourism.

Sharron Nelson Joins MPC Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is delighted to welcome Sharon Nelson to its ranks.  Sharon is the Founder and CEO of CREW – Civically Re-Engaged Women, a nonpartisan Professional Development and Leadership training organization with the Flagship “Parity Politics” and “SHEroes” Campaign programs where she believes there is a seat for all leaders at this table.  Sharon founded CREWTV, a 10- channel OTT ISP network.
