DISRUPT Film Series
A Welcome from DISRUPT's Producer and Curator, Veronica Medina
“This film series was born out of my desire to build on the Museum of Political Corruption’s mission to empower and educate the public. As a filmmaker myself, I have always believed in the power of film to inform, to enlighten and, above all, to create empathy.
Nothing can connect us more than the opportunity to enter people’s lives, their worlds and perspectives. And, through their stories, disrupt our preconceived ideas, allowing us to see beyond the surface. Perhaps we might even identify familiar feelings and experiences. We might see ourselves reflected onto their narratives.
A world without corruption is a world where we respect one another, honor each other’s history, and value each other’s culture. To me, storytelling has the potential to help us achieve exactly that.”
